![]() I hope you all had as much fun as I did watching the great pitches throughout the day. I saw tons of favs and RTs. The purpose Ann and I wanted to create #Pit2Pub was to get authors in touch with publishers and for you guys to have a long lasting relationship. Kinda sounds like a marriage and in a way it is. Having a publisher (or agent) is a give-take and I hope many of you now have found your partner with your story. Here's some staggering numbers since I wasn't busy or anything: #Pit2Pub started trending within the first 30 minutes of going live. There were approximately 1,250 tweets posted every hour. And to boot, there were 300+ profiles tweeting their pitches the first hour. By the end, there were over 10,500 tweets today!!! Whew, that's big number! That's HUGE!!! I think that's fabulous! Becuase so many of you joined in this first ever and first of its kind event, you helped us make it a success! 27 publishers signed up to monitor the Twitter feed and I know 6 more who jumped on during the day. Another agent also watched. I hope that they found some gems from all the pitches and authors who participated. I'm pleased to announce that Ann and I will be doing this as an annual event and I've already thought of some ways to make it bigger and better! Thank you to all the authors out there who had the courage to pitch your story. I know what you went though. I remember the sweats, the shakes, and the heart beating out of the chest. But you did it! If you didn't get a fav today, you still might later tonight or tomorrow. Since there was a ton of action, it sometimes takes a while for the pubs/agents to go through everything and with a fresh set of eyes. If this was your first TPP, then hurrah! You did it! I hope it was a learning experience and the next one (which is #PitMad is hosted by Brenda Drake on Sept 10) you'll be great! Lastly, I personally want to thank each and every Publisher who attended today and took the time to be with all of us: Anaiah Press, Apex Publications, CleanReads (fna: Astraea Press), Beachwalk Press, Blue Moon Publishers, BookFish Books, Carina Press, Clean Teen Pub, Crimson Tree Pub, Curiosity Quills, Dingbat Publishing, Entangled, Etopia Press, Evernight Publishing, Fantasy Works Publishing, Fey Publishing, Henery Press, Immortal Publishing, Kensignton Books, Limitless Publishing, Pandamoon Publishing, River Ram Press, REUTS Publications, Samhain Publishing, Solstice Publishing, and Soul Mate Publishing (and Agent, Jessica S.). My sincere gratitute goes out to you ... this wouldn't have been possible! So remember my name (and email address) becuase I'll be contacting you again next spring. Thank you!!!!! ~Kristin
